Trey Jewell

For Danielle...

Here I am on bended knees,
Letting your picture into the breeze.
All of my pain hidden inside,
All of your tears that I've cried.

I still hear your voice, I still see your smile,
My footsteps echo down the aisle.
This heart of stone traps the pain,
I can't see the sunshine, can't feel the rain.

Without you here you're on my mind,
Thoughts of you keep me blind.
Without you here I'm not alone,
Into the wind your picture's blown.

Author's Comments

Another poem I wrote after Danielle's suicide. This one's about the funeral. I pulled a couple of lines outta one of the other poem and put it into this one...
